Today, the House Committee on Natural Resources held a markup that included seven Republican bills, six of which passed with unanimous support. Committee Ranking Member Bruce Westerman (R-Ark.) issued the following statement:

"Great to see so much bipartisan support for our legislation during today’s markup. Two of the bills we passed will create new historical landmarks for Americans to visit and learn more about the significant places in our nation's history, and others will ensure responsible management of our nation’s lands and waters and address important issues with a direct impact on local communities. I look forward to bringing these bills to the full House for a vote."

H.R. 3128,offered by U.S. Rep. Don Young (R-Alaska), establishes the American Fisheries Advisory Committee to assist in the awarding of fisheries research and development grants.

H.R. 5345,offered by U.S. Rep. Blake Moore (R-Utah),authorizes the Director of the United States Geological Survey to establish a regional program to assess, monitor, and benefit the hydrology of saline lakes in the Great Basin and the migratory birds and other wildlife dependent on those habitats.

H.R. 3197,offered by U.S. Rep. Mike Johnson (R-La.),directs the Secretary of the Interior to convey to the City of Eunice, Louisiana, certain federal land in the state.

H.R. 3600,offered by U.S. Rep. Darin LaHood (R-Ill.),amends the National Trails System Act to designate the Route 66 National Historic Trail.

H.R. 4648,offered by U.S. Rep. Mike Johnson (R-La.),modifies the boundary of the Cane River Creole National Historical Park in Louisiana.

H.R. 4706,offered by U.S. Rep. Tony Gonazales (R-Texas),establishes the Blackwell School National Historic Site in Marfa, Texas.

S. 2933, offered by U.S. Sen. Roger Wicker (R-Miss.),improves the Fishery Resource Disaster Relief program of the National Marine Fisheries Service.
