"This reconciliation package is a bad bill with bad timing, plain and simple. During a time when Congress should be united and addressing the many crises facing Americans, this Democrat majority is instead choosing to sit at home and prioritize partisan slush funds and special interest payouts. It's a complete abdication of our responsibility as a legislative body. Committee Democrats' plans for budget reconciliation are at best a package of unprecedented, partisan government overreach. At worst, their bill is a means to hamstring the economy, cripple domestic energy production, and make the U.S. dependent on foreign adversaries. Even though I and my Republican colleagues offered multiple commonsense, science-based amendments to correct some of the most dangerous parts of the package, committee Democrats refused to accept them. Americans will suffer as a result."

Protecting U.S. mining by preventing hardrock royalties from taking effect if the Chinese Communist Party is sponsoring mineral development in Afghanistan.
