Chairman Rob Bishop (R-UT) released the following statement in response to Rep. Cynthia Lummis’s (R-WY) retirement announcement yesterday evening.
 
“This is a sad announcement for our country and our Committee. The House needs more people like Cynthia Lummis, not fewer,” Bishop said.  
 
“Rep. Lummis is a model public servant, who has empowered Americans to access our nation’s natural resources while protecting the environment for future generations.  Her leadership as Vice-Chair of the Committee and the strength and poise with which she represents the people of Wyoming will be missed.  It has been an honor to work together over the past seven years, and I look forward to working with her on important Committee issues for the remainder of this Congress.”
