Reporting H.R. 1394 Out of Committee (Passed 27-14. View Roll Call Vote)
This bill would direct the Secretary of the Interior to establish goals for an all-of-the-above energy four-year onshore production plan strategy. This plan would secure America’s future energy needs, advance the production of domestic energy, and create American jobs.
Huffman Amendment .001 – Duplicative Review of Multiple Uses (Failed 15-25. View Roll Call Vote)
This amendment would ask for a duplicative review of multiple-uses of federal lands adding additional steps and regulations to the planning process. The legislation already addresses this issue and this amendment would slow and burden the energy plan process.
DeFazio Amendment .002 – Use it or Lose it Amendment (Failed 14-27. View Roll Call Vote)
This amendment requires leases to be used within a time frame with penalty to the lease holder, yet does nothing to address the costly litigation and burdensome regulations which needlessly delay potential energy production.
DeFazio Amendment .003 – Speculation Amendment (Failed 14-27. View Roll Call Vote)
This amendment attempts to address speculation in the oil market as a root cause of high energy prices. This unnecessary, duplicative and burdensome amendment does nothing to address the real causes of high energy prices and deters potential new energy sources.
