Just before the August District Work Period, the House of Representatives passed H.R. 6082, a bill to replace President Obama’s no-new-jobs, no-new-drilling plan with a
robust plan that offers lease sales in specific areas known to contain the most oil and natural gas resources, to create tens of thousands of new American jobs and increase American energy production. This bipartisan vote marked yet another job creating energy bill from the House Natural Resources Committee that has passed the House only to languish in the black hole of new energy and job creating bills known as the Democrat controlled Senate.
There are currently over 30 job creating bills that have passed the House including this long list of American energy and job creation bills from the Natural Resources Committee. While unemployment has been over 8 percent for the last 42 months and 23 million people look for work, these bills could help struggling American families by creating over 1.2 million jobs, help lower gasoline prices, reduce America’s dangerous dependence on foreign oil and provide hundreds of millions of dollars to the U.S. Treasury to pay down the national debt.
Why would Harry Reid and the Democrat Senate sideline these common sense bills to create jobs and make America more energy secure for almost two years?
The clock is ticking...the U.S. Senate has a choice to either act to create jobs and new American energy or continue to do absolutely nothing to help Americans who are looking for work and struggling to pay for gasoline.
