Just before the August District Work Period, the House of Representatives passed H.R. 6082, a bill to replace President Obama’s no-new-jobs, no-new-drilling plan with a robust plan that offers lease sales in specific areas known to contain the most oil and natural gas resources, to create tens of thousands of new American jobs and increase American energy production. This bipartisan vote marked yet another job creating energy bill from the House Natural Resources Committee that has passed the House only to languish in the black hole of new energy and job creating bills known as the Democrat controlled Senate.

There are currently over 30 job creating bills that have passed the House including this long list of American energy and job creation bills from the Natural Resources Committee. While unemployment has been over 8 percent for the last 42 months and 23 million people look for work, these bills could help struggling American families by creating over 1.2 million jobs, help lower gasoline prices, reduce America’s dangerous dependence on foreign oil and provide hundreds of millions of dollars to the U.S. Treasury to pay down the national debt.

Why would Harry Reid and the Democrat Senate sideline these common sense bills to create jobs and make America more energy secure for almost two years?

The clock is ticking...the U.S. Senate has a choice to either act to create jobs and new American energy or continue to do absolutely nothing to help Americans who are looking for work and struggling to pay for gasoline.

• Congressional Replacement of President Obama’s Energy-Restricting and Job-Limiting Offshore Drilling Plan
  H.R. 6082 will make clear that the President’s offshore drilling plan is unacceptable and will replace it with an environmentally responsible, robust plan that truly supports increased American energy and American jobs.

• Domestic Energy and Jobs Act
  H.R. 4480 expands American energy production on federal lands and create new American jobs by streamlining government red-tape and regulations. It will also set long term production goals to establish a real all-of-the-above American energy plan.

• National Strategic and Critical Mineral Production Act
  H.R. 4402 would allow the U.S. to more efficiently develop our Nation's strategic and critical minerals, such as rare earth elements, that are vital to job creation, American economic competitiveness and national security.

• Southeast Arizona Land Exchange and Conservation Act of 2011
  H.R. 1904 authorizes a fair value land exchange in Southeast Arizona that would open up the third largest undeveloped copper resource in the world.

• Conservation and Economic Growth Act
  H.R. 2578 removes federal red tape to responsible, local economic development and job growth. It encourages tourism and recreation, promotes responsible use of our public lands and resources, protects the environment, secures federal lands along the U.S. border and promotes the development of clean, renewable hydropower.

• Protecting Next Generation Energy Security
  H.R. 3408 expands offshore energy production, open less than three percent of ANWR for oil and natural gas production, encourage the development of 1.5 trillion barrels of oil shale in the Rocky Mountain West, and approve the Keystone XL pipeline.

• Reversing President Obama’s Offshore Moratorium Act
  H.R. 1231 lifts the President’s ban on new offshore drilling by requiring the Administration to move forward in the 2012-2017 lease plan with energy production in areas containing the most oil and natural gas resources.

• Restarting American Offshore Leasing Now Act
  H.R. 1230 requires the Obama Administration to move forward promptly to conduct offshore lease sales in the Gulf of Mexico and offshore Virginia that the Obama Administration has delayed or canceled.

• Putting the Gulf of Mexico Back to Work Act
  H.R. 1229 puts an end to the Obama Administration’s de facto moratorium in the Gulf of Mexico in a safe, responsible, transparent manner by setting firm time-lines for considering permits to drill, which provide certainty and allow employers and workers to get back on the job.
