Chairman Doc Hastings sat down with Platts Energy Week to discuss the American Energy & Infrastructure Jobs Act, legislation that would link expanded American energy production with high priority infrastructure projects.

Chairman Hastings told Platts, "The revenues from this [legislation] will build and maintain our infrastructure. [It's] a win-win deal because it does create American jobs in the process."

Instead of more 'stimulus' spending or wasteful earmarks, the bill would lower government barriers to American energy production, creating over a million American jobs, lowering gasoline prices and raising revenue to help repair roads and bridges. The Committee will markup the energy portion of the bill this Wednesday.
