Republicans on the House Natural Resources Committee released a new web video today highlighting the Committee’s work during the first session of the 112th Congress to create jobs and expand access to our own energy and natural resources. Through 115 hearings, Republicans on the Committee conducted rigorous oversight of Obama Administration policies and regulations that will cost jobs and hurt our economy and advanced numerous pieces of legislation that will put Americans back to work.
House Republicans have passed nearly 30 bipartisan jobs bills that remain stuck in the Democrat-controlled Senate. These include several bills from the Natural Resources Committee that would expand American energy production, create over a million jobs and strengthen our national security. “In the face of record-high unemployment, Natural Resources Republicans have made job creation a top priority and will continue to do so this year,” said Chairman Doc Hastings. “Unlike Obama Administration policies that block access to our own natural resources and send jobs overseas, we understand that natural resources are integral to our daily lives and necessary for a strong, competitive economy. By responsibly harnessing our natural resources – from energy to minerals, water and timber - we can create new American jobs and strengthen America’s competitiveness.” ### |
