House Natural Resources Committee Chairman-elect Doc Hastings (WA-04) released the following statement regarding the decision to not consolidate energy jurisdiction into one Committee – from Energy and Commerce to Natural Resources:
“The transition from the minority to the majority offered a unique opportunity to consider bold proposals such as consolidating energy jurisdiction into one House Committee. I give credit and thanks to Speaker-designate Boehner for allowing there to be a thoughtful discussion on this proposal over the past weeks and few days. “A decision was made this morning, and now it’s time to get to work. Republicans are united in agreement on the urgent need to increase American energy production, create new American jobs, and hold the Administration accountable. I look forward to working with Fred Upton to advance Republicans’ all-of-the-above energy approach.” # # # |
