House Natural Resources Committee Ranking Member Doc Hastings (WA-04) released the following statement after the Department of Labor released the October jobs report showing that the unemployment rate remained unchanged at 9.6 percent.
“With millions of Americans looking for jobs and the unemployment rate still hovering near 10 percent, the American people sent Washington D.C. a resounding message on Tuesday that it’s time to make job creation a real priority. The anti-business, job-killing policies of the Nancy Pelosi Congress will be replaced with pro-growth, job creating policies that Republicans have been strongly advocating since the beginning of this recession. Reducing spending, creating jobs and growing our economy will be the top priorities for the Natural Resources Committee in the 112th Congress. One of the most effective ways we can put more Americans to work is by producing more American-made energy.” # # # |
