Subcommittee on Energy and Mineral Resources
Oversight Hearing on:
Member Statements:The Honorable Doug Lamborn Witnesses and Testimony:PANEL I Background:Burdensome red-tape, onerous federal regulations, and abusive actions by the Obama Administration, particularly by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), have shuttered mining operations across the country. These actions have cost thousands of American jobs and blocked the production of essential minerals and raw materials that help provide low-cost energy and are used in everyday products. Preemptively withdrawing land from mineral development, retroactively canceling permits, and armed raids like the one that recently occurred in Chicken, Alaska only serve to hurt our economy and our national security. This hearing will examine the EPA’s recent actions and offer solutions to grow America’s mining industry in order to protect and create American jobs and grow the economy. Related Documents:
